Paula M. Wedge is a mediator with a particular interest in Elder Law, which is an umbrella term for the numerous legal issues that go hand in hand with the ageing process, such as guardianship, powers of attorney, financial exploitation and estate disputes.
Paula obtained her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie Law School in 1984 and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1985. In 2014 she was awarded her Master of Laws with a concentration in Elder law from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. Her thesis topic addressed the Financial Abuse of Older Persons using Enduring Powers of Attorney.
Paula is also interested in assisting families navigate the often confusing process of accessing elder care, be it in-home supports for an older person or entry into the long-term care system.
Finally, because of her lengthy career in labour relations and human resources, Paula is equipped to take on workplace investigations and offer dispute resolution as a remedy.
